The name Marrakech originates from Tamazight (Berber) words MUR (n) AKUSH which means Land of God. Marrakech lies at the foothills of the breathtaking Atlas Mountains and it became a natural center of commerce and the capital city during medieval times. Served by the country’s second big airport Marrakech — Menara airport, the city welcomed nearly 3 million visitors in 2019.
