The name Ouarzazate originally from Tamazight (Berber) words for ‘without’ (ouar), and ‘noise’ (zazt); essentially meaning a city without noise.

Ouarzazate named (the African Hollywood & the grand-door of the Sahara) located in the middle of a bare plateau south of the High Atlas Mountains, with a desert to the city’s south.
